Chiropractic is from Greek words meaning done by hand. It is grounded in the principle that the body can heal itself when the skeletal system is correctly aligned and the nervous system is functioning properly. To achieve this, Dr. Robinson uses his hands to perform specific manipulations of the vertebrae. When these bones of the spine are not correctly aligned, the theory is that nerve transmission is disrupted and causes pain and illness manifested in the back as well as other areas of the body.

II Suns Yoga / Pilates
Instructor: Mary Haynes

Yoga originated in ancient India and is one of the longest surviving philosophical systems in the world. On the physical level, yoga postures, called asanas, are designed to tone, strengthen, and align the body. These postures are performed to make the spine supple and healthy and to promote blood flow keeping all the bodily systems healthy. On the mental level, yoga uses breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation (dyana) to quiet, clarify, and discipline the mind. Pilates poses are intertwined with yoga poses during the class to help center the body and strengthen the core.

About Mary Haynes
"I feel good about helping people, watching their faces as we start a class and seeing the calm come into their bodies."

She returned 'home' in the late 1980's and began teaching Physical Education at St. Joseph's Catholic Elementary School in Bonne Terre.
